Tank Bigsby
Bigsby made the most of his opportunity as the team’s lead running back against the Commanders with Saquon Barkley on rest and recorded 16 carries for 75 yards and one touchdown on just two attempts from two yards out during midway of third quarter play. Additionally, he caught one target pass for 31 yards.
Bigsby has had an outstanding preseason so far, excelling both in the running game and pass coverage. He could play an integral part in New England Patriots’ defensive game plan going forward and the 2023 second-round pick will look to build off of his impressive debut year in Foxborough.
K.J. Osborn
The Jaguars tried hard to keep this game competitive against New England Patriots, but ultimately fell. There were numerous fumbles and turnovers during a game full of them; offensive struggles could not keep pace with New England’s high-octane attack.
In spite of all this, some signs of life surfaced late: Tank Bigsby scored a rushing touchdown while JaMycal Hasty caught Trevor Lawrence’s 6-yard pass for another score; plus their defense held them scoreless while only giving up one touchdown while no interceptions after halftime!
The Jaguars offense remains in flux, yet should improve over the coming weeks. Young players can provide vital depth, such as rookie WR K.J.
Osborn who has been an enjoyable surprise this season; although he does possess some noticeable flaws he should become an efficient receiver capable of big plays who should prove himself worthy as an NFL starter.
Conversely, the Jaguars defense is starting to come into its own. One of the top teams in the league when it comes to limiting points and boasting intriguing younger talent for future consideration. But they must find ways to finish games off decisively during fourth quarter games.
Robert Spillane has been an essential piece of the Jaguars success this season. With an ideal blend of size and speed, Robert can adapt well in all sorts of situations – he even boasts impressive pass rushing skills! Potentially becoming one of the starting linebackers.
The Patriots possess an advantage thanks to Head Coach Mike Vrabel, who understands their style of play and can best prepare his team accordingly.
Additionally, they boast more cap space than any other NFL team and used it last year to sign key contributors such as wide receiver Stefon Diggs, Carlton Davis and Harold Landry – not forgetting Robert Spillane and K’Lavon Chaisson for cornerback duty and pass rusher duties respectively – giving them a distinct edge against Jaguars in 2025 but hoping that lessons may come out from this matchup!
JaMycal Hasty
Hasty was an active participant during Tuesday’s practice session, and appears ready to secure significant passing-game time. While his skill set may lag behind Rhamondre Stevenson, Antonio Gibson and Kevin Harris on the depth chart, Hasty has shown promise as a pass catcher who can run routes like receiver.
On Thursday during preseason finale Hasty caught Drake Maye’s h-b screen pass which resulted in nine yard touchdown run that made him the Patriots leading rusher with 30 yards on 11 carries.
Hasty will play an invaluable role for the Patriots when used in formations with multiple tight ends, and his experience makes him an asset in these situations. His speed allows him to get open on wheel routes or slant routes quickly while also picking up ground between tackles. In most fantasy leagues he makes for an acceptable RB4 option but won’t become an elite option until seeing more work at second level of offense.
Hasty made his mark during the Patriots’ Week 8 win against the Buffalo Bills, scoring three touchdowns while also catching two more – showing burst and making quick cuts through contact to reach the edge.
Hasty followed that up with a 61-yard TD run and added another 24-yard catch in the third quarter – with Jeremy Hill out for some time, Hasty can serve as an intriguing flex option in deeper leagues but being limited is often not worth considering as a dart throw.
Brian Thomas Jr.
The Jaguars have maintained that they do not plan to trade Brian Thomas Jr. following a subpar sophomore campaign, yet many teams remain keenly aware of his situation. After being the 23rd overall pick as a rookie, Thomas Jr’s production declined considerably in 2025 with only 91 targets going his way and 48-707-2 being his line for 48-707-2 production.
Fantasy owners will find some relief in knowing that while Thomas may not reach his rookie-season heights, he still possesses plenty of promise and could prove an attractive buy-low option in dynasty leagues.
He has proven his mettle in the red zone, scoring three touchdowns on five receptions.
Early this season, Thomas served as one of the Jags’ primary targets in short area and slot coverages, but their transition to more spread out offense could provide him with more chances in the middle of the field.
Liam Coen will have several options at his disposal when using former first-round pick Chris Hubbard as head coach, so it will be fascinating to witness his approach in using him this season. Still, Hubbard should remain an intriguing fantasy sleeper option.
