Aaron Herrera

In the 2025 Gold Cup semifinals, the United States men’s national team will face an unfamiliar foe when they take on Guatemala.

They must avoid going the way of two years ago when being bounced out after back-to-back games that required penalties to decide winners; their USMNT may take advantage of Guatemala’s less than stellar defense performance to gain an edge against their semifinal rival.

This match will take place at Energizer Park in St. Louis, Missouri at 7 pm EST and can be watched live through various platforms such as Ticketmaster or SeatGeek; ticket prices depend upon seating location and demand.

Aaron Herrera should return to Real Salt Lake’s starting lineup after recently returning from international duty. Herrera signed on a Homegrown contract with RSL in 2020, quickly rising through their ranks until his 29 appearances starting all 29 started, which boasted some of the best defensive numbers among any MLS defender.

He excels at both attacking and defensive phases of the game, playing right or left-back for the USMNT. Although his head-to-head record against Guatemala is 1-1, they could find themselves at an advantage considering Canada knocked out their semifinal opponents earlier in the tournament. Furthermore, he boasts one of the most creative stats at his position!

Cecilio Waterman

The United States haven’t experienced a game without scoring since their 2-1 loss to Mexico on June 10. Even without Christian Pulisic and Weston McKennie in their lineup, the Stars and Stripes have still found ways to find goals in every match this tournament despite missing key stars like these two players. That could change on Thursday night at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles when facing Guatemala!

The USMNT started their match by stretching an opponent attempting to clog the center of the field. Tyler Adams and Tanner Tessman provided strong midfield anchored by Tim Weah while Weston McKennie and Josh Sargent came close to scoring during the opening 20 minutes of play.

After a slow start, the Americans began to gain momentum in the second half. Sargent’s first-time strike hit Edgardo Farina and then Orlando Mosquera before being saved by Orlando Mosquera; nevertheless, USA continued pressing and earned two free-kicks during final third play.

One of the set pieces proved decisive, as Waterman scored from close range – his second goal of his career and fitting end to one of the most thrilling matches at this Nations League Qualifiers tournament.

Cecilio Waterman wasn’t shy to celebrate with his hero Thierry Henry when they met for the first time; in fact, he told The Athletic that celebrating came directly from his heart: “I love Arsenal player so it was fantastic to meet him.”

Even after their recent slump, Luis Tena’s team remains highly competitive within Concacaf. Entering their match without injured forward Stheven Robles who will be replaced by Oscar Castellanos as starting lineup member.

Panama have an array of scoring threats on offense. Adalberto Carrasquilla and Ismael Diaz are two key attackers that could make an impactful difference, yet their defense must improve to stop USA from exploiting any weaknesses they may possess.

Rudy Munoz

Rudy Munoz has been one of Guatemala’s standout players during this Gold Cup. An imposing figure in midfield and an aerial threat, Munoz joined Municipal in 2026 before also competing in international tournaments such as FIBA World Youth Championship and CONCACAF Gold Cup.

The United States Men’s National Team will face Guatemala in a semifinal match of the 2025 Gold Cup. Both teams advanced after successfully navigating penalties to advance in their quarterfinal matches; for the USMNT it took three shootouts against Costa Rica while Guatemala upset Canada to advance further and believe they may even reach the final this year.

This match will take place at Energizer Park in St. Louis, Missouri and be broadcast live on Fox Sports 1, FOX Sports 2, and FS1. Tickets are available to buy through Ticketmaster or SeatGeek with prices dependent upon location and demand for seats.

Guatemala should be an overwhelming favorite against the United Soccer Men’s National Team but a win will put Guatemala into great position to reach Mexico for another heartbreaking final matchup since 2016.

Arquimidez Ordonez

The United Soccer Men’s National Team have an opportunity to reach the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup final by defeating Guatemala in their semifinal matchup.

After narrowly defeating Costa Rica in a quarterfinal penalty shootout, Mauricio Pochettino’s side will enter this game full of confidence after taking out Canada in their quarterfinal match.

The USA will attempt to extend their unbeaten record at Energizer Park to 22 games when they face Guatemala for 13th consecutive time on Wednesday evening in a highly-anticipated matchup.

Arquimidez Ordonez has quickly emerged as one of the key players for Guatemala national team. At 22 years old, Ordonez signed with FC Cincinnati as their second Homegrown Player on July 3, 2021 after spending time at their youth academy and Columbus Crew’s youth academy.

Since joining FC Cincinnati’s ranks he has earned two caps against Colombia on Sept 25 and Honduras two days later as an international friendlies debutant and starter respectively.

The USMNT are expected to use the same starting lineup that defeated Costa Rica in their quarterfinal clash, led by Matt Freese, who made crucial saves during Costa Rica’s penalty shootout victory and will likely start for Mauricio Pochettino again at Gold Cup games.

He should be supported by Michael Bradley and Tim Ream who had key contributions against Ticos; Tyler Adams should remain as center midfielder, with Jack McGlynn acting as their main attacking option from right wing back in the upcoming Usmnt Vs Guatemala National Football Team Lineups encounter.
