Stefon Diggs
Stefon Diggs is one of the New England Patriots’ go-to receivers, having been selected in the fifth-round draft in 2017. A quick route runner with exceptional open field abilities, Stefon is one of their most explosive weapons and an often game-breaking weapon with his quick route running. An explosive playmaker in both tight coverage and open field situations, Stefon makes him a dangerous threat on every play.
Vikings star receiver Adam Thielen has made strides this year as his second year in New England progresses, amassing over 1,000 yards and 12 touchdowns en route to setting franchise records in both categories.
While the Patriots don’t possess one of the strongest secondary units, Thielen has found ways to exploit it and score repeatedly against competition.
On New England’s opening drive of the game, Drake Maye connected on an 11-yard jump pass to Diggs for an initial first down in the red zone and proceeded to rush 26 yards downhill until reaching Dolphins 3-yard line before throwing another touchdown pass of 22 yards to wide receiver Julian Edelman for another score.
With this victory, the Patriots improved to 4-2 and completed an incredible road trip. Maye was nearly flawless in passing game while Rhamondre Stevenson led an aggressive running attack.
New England’s defense fared fairly well despite a slow start in the first quarter, as both Titans offensive drives were stopped dead on both initial attempts by New England defenders; run stops and missed field goals gave New England momentum moving into the second period.
On New England’s third possession in the second half, its defense held off Tennessee without surrender. Furthermore, their special teams earned them a safety from Stefon Diggs’ blocked punt.
Diggs’ performance was outstanding in his return from Week 14 absence, making six receptions on 10 targets for an impressive 108 yards and two touchdowns – becoming the first Vikings receiver ever with at least five catches and 80 yards consecutive games.

Rhamondre Stevenson
Rhamondre Stevenson has made notable contributions to the Patriots offense this season, rushing over 100 yards three times and scoring two touchdowns. Furthermore, his presence played an integral part in their defensive success against Tennessee Titans.
Stevenson broke a long run to set up the Patriots’ first score of the game against Tennessee (10/19), before running in for a 3-yard touchdown rushing.
His performance contributed 17% of their offensive yardage; his 200 rushing yards against Indianapolis on Dec 1 was his highest total since that date and now puts him fifth on their all-time list with 3,6669 career rushing yards.
Stevenson also played an instrumental role in New England’s win at Buffalo (11/26), rushing for 107 yards and catching one touchdown pass from QB Drake Maye. It marked his highest scrimmage yardage total ever and marked only his second time to post double-digit totals both on rushing and receiving respectively.
The Patriots continued their momentum in the third quarter, amassing 88 rushing yards and three touchdowns thanks to Stefon Diggs and Stevenson who both contributed key runs – one even stretching for 40 yards by Stevenson! As a result of these surges, they took an unprecedented 31 point advantage into halftime.
Defense continued its strong play, with Stevenson making a key stop on 3rd-and-10 in the second quarter to give the Patriots back possession with a 21-0 advantage.
On the first play of their next drive, Maye found wide receiver Mack Hollins for 27 yards and converted a fourth-down play to keep their drive alive. On a scramble, Stevenson hit his head hard enough that he needed medical evaluation after hitting it on an accidental scramble play; later in the quarter he returned but did not produce any additional passing yards.
Stevenson played an integral part in the Patriots’ Wild Card Round win at Washington (11/5), rushing for 86 yards and catching a 10-yard touchdown from QB Mac Jones – his first both as a rusher and receiver since scoring three yards against Cleveland on October 16, 2022.
K’Lavon Chaisson
The NFL is built upon hope. Fans are drawn in year after year by the prospect of seeing their teams go from being underdogs to contenders, keeping fans engaged year-round and even the worst teams can keep fans interested if they can turn things around. Take for instance the Titans; after starting out 0-3 this season and receiving just three wins all year-long, their surprising playoff victory against New England Patriots gave them new life; but now there is the question as to whether this momentum can continue throughout 2019.
The Titans offense struggled early, but rookie running back Rhamondre Stevenson made up for their early mistakes with an outstanding performance, rushing for 18 yards on eight attempts and scoring one touchdown.
Meanwhile, their defense led by linebackers K’Lavon Chaisson and Marcus Jones struggled but managed to put some pressure on quarterback Cam Ward which ultimately caused a fumble which was recovered by Jones for a defensive touchdown score.
Chaisson and his Commanders’ pass rush managed to force three incompletions and a punt on Titans’ second drive, giving Chaisson some breathing room before Drake Maye led an 11-play, 93-yard drive that ended with tight end Austin Hooper scoring from 3-yard out.
On the first play of their next drive, Maye appeared to land his throw with precision, only for him to strike out on contact and be examined for concussion symptoms. Luckily, he returned to play and connected with Hunter Henry for a 40-yard touchdown reception.
After an extended lull in action, K’Lavon Chaisson forced Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud into a fumble which led to a 4-yard touchdown run by Titans’ running back Derrick Henry for another defensive score, giving Tennessee an 18-13 advantage with under two minutes remaining in halftime.
James White
The Titans made an early statement, collecting first downs on both of their opening drives before their first drive stalled after two run stops and a failed third-down conversion on a receiver screen pass. Meanwhile, the Patriots quickly drove downfield and took the lead after Drake Maye ran twice for 57 yards on two consecutive plays.
On their second drive, the Patriots defense maintained its stability as it prevented two short touchdown runs by the Titans before forcing a punt. On their next possession, Cam Ward connected with Chimere Dike for 38 yards and scored their first touchdown of the contest.
After their slow start, New England found their offensive rhythm during the second quarter and never looked back, ending it off with three consecutive scoring drives to seal their 31–13 victory in the New England Patriots Vs Tennessee Titans Match Player Stats game, showing complete control on both offense and defense throughout the matchup.
