Team India

Both teams will be desperate to earn a spot in the quarterfinals of the 2026 World Cup, and victory against their opponent would give them an excellent chance. This meeting marks their first encounter since 1996 at this level and should prove highly contentious.

Proteas have also announced their ten-man Test squad for India tour. Test matches will take place in Guwahati, Kolkata and Delhi while ODIs will take place Ranchi Raipur Visakhapatnam starting 30 November with Test matches beginning 11 December.
Temba Bavuma will lead South Africa in their ODI series against India while Aiden Markram will captain their T20Is – marking the first time ever that an entire Proteas squad travels to India for white-ball series play. Lungi Ngidi and Shahbaz Nadeem were added as replacements for injured players.
