Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli is one of the finest batsmen to ever appear in international cricket. After making his debut for India at a young age, it was clear he was destined for greatness from day one.
Leading India Under-19 to victory at Kuala Lumpur World Cup 2008 served as an omen that his success would become evident later.
Soon afterwards he made the transition into senior side cricket, often featuring prominently during short format play.
He found great success across ODI and Twenty20 formats before soon becoming a mainstay in Test cricket as well. In 2012, he scored his maiden Test century in Adelaide as an indicator of his dominance in that long format of cricket.
For over 10 years thereafter, he led India across all three forms before handing the reins over to Rohit Sharma in 2022.
Kohli has been instrumental in leading RCB back into contention for playoffs over the last two seasons, being their best batsman during 2020 season and helping win several matches, including an important clash against Mumbai Indians in the playoffs.
Unfortunately, however, during 2022 season he suffered through an extended lean spell which prevented him from participating in their knockout matches.
Sunil Narine
Sunil Narine, a Trinidadian spin bowler playing for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League. He is known for his economical bowling style and ability to pick up wickets at key moments during T20 matches.
Narine has been a key member of KKR since 2012 and is considered one of the best players in the league.
Eden Gardens stadium in Kolkata, India serves as their home ground. This multi-purpose sports arena can hold over 90,000 spectators and is owned by the Cricket Association of Bengal.
Their official motto is “Korbo, Lorbo, Jeetbo” (Perform, Fight, Win). Gautam Gambhir currently leads all time run scorers while Sunil Narine holds top wicket-taking honours.
At the 2012 auction, KKR managed to purchase former captain Brendon McCullum as well as West Indian spinner Sunil Narine from West Indies as well as South African fast bowlers Marchant de Lange and Ryan Ten Doeschate who joined their squad of fast bowlers.
KKR are currently fourth in the table with four victories from their initial five matches, led by Virat Kohli’s unbeaten 83 not out and an outstanding bowling performance by the entire team.

Varun Chakaravarthy
RCB’s spinners have done an outstanding job this season. Their spin has caused Kings XI Punjab and CSK problems during recent matches; Dinesh Karthik leads an effective bowling unit which excels at the death overs.
Bowler believes that many batsmen now arrive with different mindsets, making life challenging for bowlers. He states it is imperative to quickly assess conditions and stick with plans.
KKR started well until the 13th over, when losing several quick wickets had an adverse impact. Ajinkya Rahane commented that they believed 210-220 runs were within reach, but losing key players changed everything drastically.
Rahane explained it’s still early days and they must learn from their mistakes to limit damage to their net run rate early on and that’s exactly what KKR are trying to achieve with Krunal Pandya winning player of the match award.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Bhuvneshwar Kumar is one of India’s finest white-ball bowlers and has been impressive for Royal Challengers Bangalore this season.
In five matches he has taken six wickets while maintaining an economy rate of 7.84; this will likely make him a key factor as they seek their fifth win against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 18th.
KKR have enjoyed recent victories against KXIP and CSK thanks to some disciplined bowling at the death, led by Dinesh Karthik’s side under Andre Russell (half century) and Phil Salt ( half century) respectively. As of now they sit third on the points table with a net run rate of +0.672.
Eden Gardens in Kolkata, India is Eden Kieser Reis’ home ground. The stadium can seat over 90,000. Eden Gardens is owned and managed by the Cricket Association of Bengal and BCCI respectively; two ends, known as High Court End and Club House End are designated. KKR logo features two interlocked diamonds while its motto reads, “Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo”, (Perform, Fight and Win).
Bhuvneshwar Kumar recently admitted on The Ranveer Show hosted by Ranveer Allahbadia podcaster that his initial favourite IPL team wasn’t Sunrisers Hyderabad where he later played, but rather Kolkata Knight Riders – not because of their cricket strategy or squad composition, but rather due to Shah Rukh Khan’s charm and humility as an actor; hence why the cricketer became part of their family. Ajinkya Rahane
Ajinkya Rahane was raised in Dombivli with an upbringing that was mid-class but his love of cricket became his religion. Starting out with Mumbai Junior Cricket Academy’s junior ranks – quickly making an impression – Rahane quickly rose through the ranks to play for Mumbai A and India A – even captaining them during Ranji Trophy matches!
Rahane made his international debut against England and scored 47-ball half century at Old Trafford before receiving his debut international cap from India against South Africa that year!
Rahane impressed in his first Test series against England, leading him to be called up as an injury replacement during the 2015 World Cup 50-over format tournament. Rahane also displayed admirable form against West Indies two-match series as an injury replacement – scoring an important 79 against South Africa before eventually becoming a Test specialist.
Rahane made an emphatic comeback after suffering several dips, scoring two centuries against New Zealand at home and topping the tournament’s batting chart with ease.
His hard work earned him a Test recall against South Africa in 2023, during which he scored an unbeaten 205 in one match – his highest score in any series and leading him into an elite club of players who have amassed more than 5,000 Test runs each.
Rahane has played for multiple IPL franchises since 2012, yet Rajasthan Royals remain his primary franchise. As their anchorman he can help set them off on an effective start during Powerplay matches. Additionally he is a consistent run scorer for them with an exceptional strike rate in this tournament.
