They will lock horns once again in a white-ball series starting on January 11 in Baroda. The ODI series will be followed by five T20Is spread across central and eastern India. The schedule was finalized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) during its Apex Council meeting.

New Zealand is set to start its first men’s international tour to India in 15 years when it plays three ODIs and five T20Is in the country from January 11. The opener, scheduled for January 11, will take place in Vadodara at the newly constructed Kotambi Stadium. The ground will host its first men’s ODI, having previously hosted three Women’s ODIs in December 2024 and six matches of the 2025 WPL.
The Blackcaps are coming into this series off the back of a 2-1 defeat to Bangladesh in their opening Test at Eden Gardens. The result saw the visitors struggle with bat and ball, failing to reach 300 in both innings. Skipper Kane Williamson was the top scorer for New Zealand with a career-best 224 not out.
He was ably supported by opener Martin Guptill, who scored an unbeaten 142. The Kiwis will hope to rebound from their disappointing performance in the test series when they visit India.

India slumped to a 5-0 thrashing in the ODI series against New Zealand in 1995-96. However, the series is sure to be a lot more closely contested this time around, particularly given that the Indian team have lost their last three ODIs.
Despite this, India still have plenty to be positive about. The likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul are in good form and will be looking to prove their worth on a bigger stage. Jasprit Bumrah is also enjoying a fine run of form, and he could very well propel the Blues to victory.
