Tests

South Africa and England will clash in three Test matches over Christmas and New Year. The first Test will start at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg before moving on to Centurion on Boxing Day before concluding at Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town.

An ODI series will then commence at Boland Park in Paarl on January 10, with remaining matches at Manguang Oval in Bloemfontein; due to scheduling issues this series had originally been planned but postponed.

If you’re planning on attending a Test match, make sure to book tickets early as this will save money over the cost of last-minute ones and allow access to exclusive hospitality areas with food and beverage specials.

Also bring along a hat, plenty of sunblock and plenty of hydration during the game; comfortable footwear should also be worn due to Africa’s harsh summer sun!

South Africa provides many ways for spectators to watch Test matches, from luxury stadium hospitality boxes and viewing terraces, to open-air terraces.

We can arrange group tours to Cape Town’s Test matches that include hospitality boxes with shaded seating – ideal for those wanting a comfortable way to take in all the action in Cape Town’s test matches. Likewise, Durban and KwaZulu Natal both boast beautiful beaches as well as historical battlefields for your tour enjoyment.

England’s batsmen dominated the first Test at the Wanderers, led by Joe Root’s century. However, on the rain-affected second day they struggled to score runs and were bowled out for 250.

Kagiso Rabada took four wickets as South Africa claimed an emphatic win; England were sidelined due to an elbow injury suffered by Jofra Archer; however Dom Bess produced his maiden five-wicket haul against South Africa despite this impressive showing from Dom Bess who produced an impressive five-for against South African Proteas!

England were forced to settle for a draw in their final Test match at Newlands following a thrilling finish. Eoin Morgan scored an unprecedented fifty and helped England avoid further innings defeat, yet even this wasn’t enough to prevent South Africa’s 2-1 series win.

ODIs

The England men’s cricket team will travel to South Africa this winter for a three-Test series and three-match ODI series, starting with an opening match at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg and leading into Boxing Day’s traditional SuperSport Park Test, followed by Newlands Cape Town final Test match.

Starting January 10 at Boland Park Paarl with final two matches at Manguang Oval Bloemfontein; due to scheduling issues the original planned T20I series between them has been postponed; The ECB says both teams will explore options on rescheduling this series at later date.

Both teams should arrive for the ODIs at full strength with all available players available for selection and Ben Stokes back after knee surgery will provide a welcome boost for England while Jos Buttler and Adil Rashid will join Jos Buttler and Adil Rashid as notable ODI squad members in South Africa, whil the Proteas squad features Lungi Ngidi and Temba Bavuma under captain Quinton de Kock’s leadership.

England won their last ODI series against South Africa 4-2 to claim their first win since 2006. When these two sides meet again on 30 June in Johannesburg, both teams will hope for an equally memorable experience – join the Barmy Army and watch these epic battles unfold with our South Africa cricket tour packages!

T20Is

The Proteas will look to build on their triumph in the Test series against England with another triumph in T20Is. Quinton de Kock was appointed captain, while Dale Steyn returned after recovering from injury, alongside pace bowlers Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi returning. Jofra Archer unfortunately has been ruled out due to rib injury and will miss this series.

At Sophia Gardens in their inaugural T20I of this series, England crushed South Africa by seven wickets – their largest T20 win ever!

Phil Salt of Yorkshire made history by hitting an outstanding 141 and helping England secure victory thanks to a disciplined England attack led by Sam Curran and Mark Wood.

England was victorious against South Africa for the first time since their 5-0 white-ball win at the end of 2024 in Cardiff. Following this match, some changes were made to England T20I squad – Surrey all-rounder Sam Curran replaced opening batsman Ben Duckett while teenage pace bowler Kwena Maphaka has been added as cover for fast bowler Rabada while recovering from an ankle injury.

Jos Buttler and Phil Salt were England’s standout batsmen during the Twenty20 International, both hitting unbeaten tons to become England’s leading scorers.

For Buttler it was his seventh T20 international century – placing him fourth on all-time England T20 run scorers list while Salt’s unbeaten century took him top of England T20 run scoring charts.

England maintained their bowling performance despite South Africa’s impressive total score, thanks to Dom Bess and Craig Overton’s fielding performances – in particular Bess’ first five-wicket haul in T20 internationals which won him man of the match honors;

Overton gave an exceptional run out performance, including an extraordinary one on Hashim Amla that stood out among them all.

T20 World Cup

The England men’s national cricket team will tour South Africa for three Test and three One Day International series between December 2026 and January 2027, starting with Test matches held at Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg and ending in Newlands and Boland Park Cape Town for One Day Internationals and T20 series that originally scheduled between January and February.

Tickets should go on sale late February for this series between England vs South Africa T20/ODI series.

After suffering through an unsuccessful tour of Bangladesh and West Indies, England will look to improve their touring record against an unsettled Proteas side which is still adjusting without Faf du Plessis as captain.

Although currently second in both ICC Test and ODI rankings behind India, England have only won seven out of 21 ODIs they’ve played away from home over their recent history.

Quinton de Kock will replace Faf du Plessis as the Proteas One Day International captain. He will lead an improved Proteas team that includes Lungi Ngidi and Temba Bavuma; Dale Steyn will return after missing out due to injury during Centurion Test match.

Jofra Archer was forced out of South Africa’s T20 series against England due to an elbow injury, so as a replacement Dom Bess and Craig Overton have been appointed by their Protea teammates as cover players for this tournament.

Tickets sales have been strong for the T20 World Cup, reaching capacity for the inaugural time ever at this tournament’s venue in South Africa. According to ICC figures, 3.3 million tickets were sold – setting a new sales record that surpasses even 2015 edition’s India edition mark.
