SRH: Pat Cummins
Early in this match, SRH were in trouble when their batting struggled to make any headway; someone needed to step up and that man was none other than experienced fast bowler Pat Cummins.
Cummins has been stellar this IPL season and helped secure them an easy victory against an impressive GT team by not only bowling good lines but also giving the batters room to make decisions; mixing up his pace, watching closely for their plans and executing them effectively.
Cummins first made his limited-overs debut in 2011, before becoming a regular Test fixture from the 2017-18 Ashes series onward.
Quickly becoming one of the premier fast bowlers worldwide alongside Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood, Cummins quickly established himself as an internationally respected fast bowler.
In 2022, he was named Australia’s men’s One Day International (ODI) captain, leading them back into international cricket’s pinnacle and leading to what many consider their greatest World Cup victory ever.
Widely considered one of the greatest bowling captains ever and an integral member of Australia’s formidable frontline.
Cummins has earned himself an immense amount of admiration as both an amazing player and one of Australia’s most beloved figures off the field.
Committed to social change through education and passionate about sustainability, indigenous communities, and health he stands out as an exemplar in many respects – husband/father/hobby farmer all at the same time! A true role model whose legacy will endure for many years to come he is an inspiring figure for young Australians today.
B Sai Sudharsan
Sai Sudharsan is one of a long line of talented left-handed batsmen from Tamil Nadu. After scoring 610 runs in 2022 Vijay Hazare Trophy cricket and making his white-ball debut soon afterwards, the youngster achieved prominence.
Since then he has excelled at IPL, ODI and Ranji Trophy cricket – potentially even becoming an India Test squad member one day!
Sai will now look to follow in the footsteps of Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly to become an established international cricketer. Cheteshwar Pujara presented Sai with his inaugural Test cap on Friday in Leeds.
Jos Buttler
Left-hander Buttler is England’s most aggressive limited-overs player. Additionally, he serves as their first-choice wicketkeeper across formats and was recently rewarded by selectors after they restored him to the Test side after an interrupted start to his Test career.
He made his mark in the IPL as part of Rajasthan Royals, scoring three centuries. Additionally, he established himself with Melbourne Renegades and Sydney Thunder during Big Bash League play.
Jos Buttler first caught England selectors’ eyes in April 2009 when he debuted for Somerset. Although he took nearly one year before making his first ODI century against Pakistan in May 2014, he made sure it would remain memorable by scoring it against them during an innings he led England against in England’s win against them in the World T20 tournament.
Buttler quickly made his mark in the inaugural Big Bash League with Manchester Originals in 2017, quickly becoming a fan favourite with his powerful, attacking batting style.
He remained with them for two years of the competition before switching over to Lancashire country cricket; at World Cup 2016, Buttler helped England reach semi-final status; alongside Ben Stokes, he even helped them back into final after they lost three balls of their Super Over.
Harshal Patel
Harshal Patel was an elegant right-arm medium pacer who distinguished himself with his subtle variations and slower dipping yorkers. After debuting with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Harshal won 32 wickets that season to claim the Purple Cap – something he repeated at PBKS two seasons later.
He returned to SRH this season, becoming one of their standout defenders and playing some fantastic limited-overs cricket – helping SRH maintain an unassailable lead at the top of their table with his economical spells.
Patel was instrumental in SRH’s triumphant win against CSK and was recognized with Player of the Match honors. His brilliant spell of 4/28 helped restrict CSK batting to just 154 runs in 19.5 overs, setting up an easy chase from their side.
Patel dismissed several key CSK players including Sam Curran, Dewald Brevis, captain MS Dhoni and Noor Ahmed before setting them on their way again.
Patel also took out Aiden Markram with one of his signature slower yorkers that completely fooled the South African and crashed into the stumps, to become the fastest bowler ever in IPL history to reach 150 wickets, surpassing legendary bowlers such as Lasith Malinga and Yuzvendra Chahal in only 117 games – an outstanding performance by Patel who is looking forward to building on it throughout this tournament.
Kagiso Rabada
Kagiso Rabada is a South African fast bowler who excels at all formats of cricket. As one of the most lethal bowlers worldwide, he can turn games single-handedly when in full flow. Clocking speeds above 140kmph regularly and bowling accurately whether delivering short or long deliveries he remains one of cricket’s go-to guys.
