SRH batsmen struggled to score, posting an ineffective total of 133/7. Ashutosh Sharma and Tristan Stubbs kept the scoreboard moving by joining together for an outstanding 66-run stand before rain stopped play at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium Hyderabad and called off the match.

But they must tighten up their defence if they want to remain in contention for a top-four finish; no rain is predicted so this should be an extended match that should feature many innings and runs galore!

Delhi Capitals started off the season strong but soon fell off, struggling with their bat during subsequent games as teams found ways to counter their aggressive batting approach.

Cummins made an immediate impact, picking up Karun Nair, Faf du Plessis and Abishek Porel within his first three overs to leave DC reeling at 26/4 within powerplay – later Jaydev Unadkat also contributed by sending KL Rahul back before Cummins took an eye-catching catch off Axar Patel which made 47/5 at halfway.
DC staged an impressive comeback to reach 133/7 but couldn’t capitalize as rain began falling at the tail-end of their innings, coming down hard enough to wash away their pitch and deny victory to them. Their loss sent SRH spiralling out of contention for top four standings while placing them into danger alongside PBKS.
Early in the game, SRH openers Jake Fraser-McGurk and Faf du Plessis put up an impressive score on a challenging batting surface before they were eventually dismissed by Axar Patel and Zheshan Kanga respectively, giving DC an excellent opportunity to win with Stubbs and Porel at bat – unfortunately rain intervened just at that moment to end play and leave them still well placed to reach top four with one match remaining on their calendar.

SRH’s batsmen had difficulty scoring. With the exception of Manish Pandey, all their other batsmen failed to hit 30 runs; therefore SRH finished with an underwhelming total of 133/7.
Home side DC won both of their opening matches despite losing both. But even so, they remain third in the standings with just 13 points from 11 games – so with some wins remaining they still stand a chance at reaching playoffs.
