KKR dugout and crowd were viscerally affected as Ajinkya Rahane shed tears following his team’s collapse, prompting a frenzy of emotions from both spectators and teammates alike.

Everyone was shouting and crying. Ajinkya Rahane himself seemed especially emotional following their loss.

Weather gods had their say as rain forced an immediate abandonment of this match. While the washout will not significantly alter NRR scenarios, it will undoubtedly hurt KKR more than GT or DC; and taking away an enjoyable element from league play’s early stage like NRR scenarios will only prove detrimental in terms of fun factor.

They dominated every aspect of the match from start to finish – winning both powerplays, amassing 205/6 on an unpredictable pitch that offered variable bounce.

Opener AB de Villiers made an unbeaten 122 from just 77 deliveries while India leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took four wickets – helping RCB achieve victory and claim their maiden IPL title win ever.

Due to increased India-Pakistan tensions, the match between KKR and DC was postponed. Prior to this decision, political unrest also caused disruption at KC-SRH’s match in this region.

IPL 2026

IPL 2026 will begin on March 26 and run through May 31. Featuring 10 teams from last season’s edition, it promises to be an extremely competitive season – record bids were seen for Cameron Green at auction, while uncapped talents have received considerable offers as well.

Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium could host the opening match of IPL 2026; however, its availability depends on government clearance. Furthermore, following an 11-person death in RCB celebrations at that stadium on June 4, which raised uncertainty.

IPL 2027

IPL 2027 will mark the first season in which all teams play all other teams twice, providing each with more time to prepare. Furthermore, there will be an increased number of matches–94 instead of the current 104–making the league more competitive and fair across the board; match points remain at four for everyone involved.

The new rules stipulate that every player must participate in every IPL match unless injury or weather conditions prohibit. While this gives more players an opportunity to be part of an IPL team, it also increases workload and the risk of injuries; possibly leading to more players quitting before reaching full participation status in competition.
